I am the managing partner of Mueller Law, LLC's New Jersey and New York offices, a national law firm, with my office here in Montclair, New Jersey. I specialize in complex litigation matters pending in the courts all over the country. I am a former federal prosecutor and an adjunct law professor of law at Seton Hall Law School.
I was born and raised here in New Jersey. My father was a police officer and my mother a teacher’s aide. My parents instilled in me the importance of public service.
While in Washington, D.C., I worked for a United States Congressman and a Member of Parliament in the British House of Commons. I also served on the staffs of three offices of Independent Counsel with the United States Justice Department: investigating allegations concerning the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development; investigating allegations concerning the United States Attorney General; and investigating allegations concerning the United States Secretary of Agriculture.
I have had the privilege of representing the First Ward on the Montclair Town Council for the last eight years, where I also served as the Deputy Mayor in 2016 and now again in 2020. I have also been a member of the of the Montclair Board of School Estimate for the last eight years.
Before, and during my council service, I served on numerous town boards, such as the Montclair YMCA, Northern New Jersey Red Cross, Outpost in the Burbs, National Youth Recovery Foundation, the Family Services League and the Town’s Capital Finance Committee. I value the time I have spent serving these varied interests serving our community. I have been very active in the Montclair School District and I volunteer to support the many events and fundraisers held for the schools. I presented Goldilocks v. The Three Bears, a mock trial for elementary school children where they learn firsthand how the court system works as a non-violent means to settle disputes.
I lived in Montclair for twenty-two years. I am proud of the fact that my two children are graduates of the Montclair public school system. I consider myself lucky to live and work in our great town!
I am a trial attorney specializing in litigating False Claims Act (qui tam), product liability, commercial litigation and mass tort cases. I am experienced in all aspects of litigation, arbitration, mediation and appeals. From 1998-99 I worked as a federal prosecutor in Washington D.C. I represent individuals (whistle-blowers) who have uncovered fraud committed on the public fisc. In 2019, I was featured in The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 list. In 2012, I was named on the New Jersey Super Lawyers list- a distinction reserved for 5% of practicing attorneys in the State. I was also selected to the Lawyers of Distinction, an honor bestowed upon the top 10% of lawyers involved in civil litigation in the nation. In 2004, I was featured in The American Lawyer magazine and the Corporate Crime Reporter for my professional achievements. Currently, I am admitted to practice in the Courts of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
From 2002 to 2013, I served as an adjunct professor teaching health care law and legal research and writing at Seton Hall Law School. I was an officer and barrister in the Arthur T.
